Margaret F. Geer, 99 of First Ave in Ilion, passed away on Thursday December 26, 2013 at St. Elizabeth's Medical Center in Utica with her loving family by her side.
Margaret was born on June 16, 1914 in Middleville, the daughter of the late Felix and Frances (Schafranek) Bucek.
She was educated in Middleville and worked at Remington Rand, UNIVAC and CP.
After retiring she worked with her daughter Betty at J's in Ilion. On November 24, 1934 she married Harold Geer in St. Johnsville, Harold passed away on May 8, 2000.
Margaret was a member of Annunciation Church in Ilion. She loved cooking, quilting, crocheting and macram, as well as reading and traveling.
Margaret was the center of her entire family; she was always kind and caring with a great sense of humor.
She is survived by a daughter Betty and her husband Donald Bouck of Ilion; two brothers Stanley Bucek of Richfield Springs and Walter Bucek and his wife Doris of Frankfort; two grandchildren Jana and her husband Bryan Green and Ron Russell; two great grandchildren Collin and Hannah Green, as well as several nieces and nephews.
She is predeceased by a daughter Margaret Russell, her brothers John and Joseph and sisters Helen, Anna and Agnes.
Funeral services for Margaret will be held on Tuesday December 31, 2013 at 11am at the Whiter-Hendrix Funeral Home Inc. 100 Otsego St. in Ilion; Deacon James Bower will officiate.
Interment will be in the spring at Mt. View Memorial Gardens.
Friends may call on Tuesday from 10am until the time of the funeral.
A memorial scholarship will be set up at St. Elizabeth's College of Nursing; envelopes are available at the funeral home.
