Margaret A. Ludwig, 98, passed away Saturday December 3, 2016 surrounded by her family. She was born October 13, 1918 in Schuyler, the daughter of the late Fred and Ruth Williams Kane. Margaret was a graduate of Frankfort High School.
She was united in marriage with Robert C. Ludwig in 1940, who passed away April 30, 1987.
Margaret was a dedicated, lifelong dairy farmer, a life she loved and took great pride in.
She was also a member of Our Lady Queen of Apostles Church in Frankfort.
Margaret is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Barbara and Terry Wright, 3 sons and daughters-in-law Charles and Sandi, Robert and Pat and James and Sue Ludwig, all of Schuyler, her grandchildren, Alan, Ryan, Ray, Margaret, Fred, Dale, Robin, Becky, Robert, Terry, Bethany, Jodi, Megan, Casey, Melissa and Andy as well as 32 great grand and 2 great-great grandchildren. Margaret is also survived by a brother and sister-in-law Roy and Winnie Kane of Schuyler and her sister Esther Goodson of Clark Mills.
Besides her husband, she was predeceased by her daughter Janice Upson, grandson Scott Ludwig, 2 brothers, Harold and Hamilton Kane, and sister Ida Doremus.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Wednesday, December 7, 2016 at 10:30 AM from Our Lady Queen of Apostles, Frankfort, with Fr. Paul Catena officiating.
Interment will follow in the West Schuyler Cemetery. Friends may call from 2-4 and 7-9 Tuesday at the Whiter-Hendrix Funeral Home, Inc., 100 Otsego St., Ilion.
Pa always said nobody could hold a candle to you, and he was right.
Friends are asked to consider memorials to the Schuyler Fire Department in Margaret's memory.
