Marjorie (Margie) Gladys Upson
July 10, 1954-October 22, 2009
Margie died in her sleep at her home in Frankfort Thursday morning after a respiratory illness.
She was 55.
She lived with her sister and niece in Frankfort.
Margie was a person with special needs which were met by everyone who knew her.
The doctor told her mother she probably would not live past the age of 9 years, but because of her mother's love and affection Margie proved the doctor wrong.
Margie attended the ARC in Herkimer since her mother's passing and enjoyed being a part of the community, whom we wish to thank for all their help, compassion and making Margie feel welcome.
We also need to thank Dr. Booth who always told us to "give Margie whatever she wants" as long as she's happy.
We would also like to thank Lennox Brothers Pharmacy for all their help, David Galer from UCP, and Cathy Malloy from DSO, Sharon Lille and Ashley Kelly from DSO and Ellen and Becky for the Herkimer ARC.
They have been a tremendous help.
Margie enjoyed life.
She had a great sense of humor, looking forward to visits with friends and family, and was an avid soap opera fan, loved "stiching" and had a knack for bringing a smile to every ones face.
She also enjoyed watching Walker, Baywatch, Knight
Rider , Days of Our Lives and
Lawrence Welk every Saturday night
and
her "Kentucky Fried Chicken Saturday lunch.
Margie
was
a
member of Our Lady Queen of Apostles Church in Frankfort, and a member of the Fat Lady's Club.
Besides her sister Ethyl Brown and niece Susanne Brown, she is survived by her brothers and sisters in laws Robert and Janice Upson of Frankfort, Stuart and Sharon Upson of Frankfort, Roy and Cathy Upson of Mohawk, Glenn and Wendy Upson of Iva, South Carolina, a special brother in law Larry Brown and a dear friend Bob and her canine eating pal Rusty.
She has 10 nephews and one niece and several great nephews and nieces, also many thoughtful cousins. Two aunts Marjorie Riesel and Mable Robinson.
She was predeceased by her mother Louise and father Elmer (Ted), a brother Raymond when he was 5 months old, and two special aunts Elizabeth (Lid) Wheelock and Ethel (Ud) Sterling.
