Martena J. Goldin, 95 of Ilion passed away on Saturday March 15, 2014 at the Masonic Care Community in Utica.
Martena was born on August 10, 1918 in Ilion. She was the daughter of the late Tracy and Katherine (Reed) Warner.
She was a 1936 graduate of Ilion High School and in her younger years she worked at Remington Typewriter, Mulvey's and Lennox Pharmacy.
On August 3, 1940
Martena married Maurice U. Goldin in Ilion; he passed away on March 8, 2002.
Martena was a member of the Morning Star Ministry and was active volunteer of their Corner Stone shop. She was also a member of the United Methodist Women, the American Legion Aux. and the Order of the Eastern Star.
In
Martena's
high school years she was a charter member of the Beta Chi sorority.
Martena is survived by her two sons; Maurice and his wife LeVeta of Battlefield MO and Thomas and his wife Diane of Ilion; two daughters Janet and her companion Fred Liddle of Munnsville and Jean George of Ilion.
Seven grandchildren; three step grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren.
Funeral services for Martena will be held on Tuesday March 18, 2014 at 7pm with Rev. Robert Wollaber officiating.
Interment will be in the spring at the Armory Hill Cemetery in Ilion.
Friends may call on Tuesday from 4pm until the time of the funeral; at the Whiter-Hendrix Funeral Home Inc. 100 Otsego St. in Ilion.
Memorial contributions may be made to either the Masonic Care Community or Morning Star Ministries.
Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
