Mohawk
Mary D. Casey, 86, of Ilion passed away at home on Monday, December 4, 2017 with her loving family by her side.
Mary was born on August 22, 1931 in Herkimer. She was the daughter of the late Harry P. and Rachel Loomis (Swift) Daly. She graduated from Mohawk schools and attended Oneonta State. Mary worked as bookkeeper for the town of German Flatts for 50 years.
On June 25, 1955 Mary was united in marriage to John "Jack" Casey in the Mohawk Reformed Church. She was a very active member of the Mohawk Reformed Church for many years as well as a 60 year member of the OES.
Mary was the type of person who took care of others, and always put everyone before herself. She devoted her life to her daughter, Linda, and her granddaughters, Rachel Mary and Morgan. She will be deeply missed by her loving family and many friends.
Mary is survived by her husband Jack; daughter Linda and her husband Dan Trevor of Ilion; granddaughters Rachel Mary Trevor of Rockville Centre, NY and Morgan Trevor of Poughkeepsie, NY; a brother Ted and his wife Adelaide Daly of Orange City, FL; a very special niece Mary Jean Kinkel of Clarence, NY; and special friends Sharon and Ken Palmer. She is predeceased by a brother John and a sister Helen, and two lifelong friends Peggy Hess and Donna "Boo Boo" Whitebread.
Mary's family wishes to thank Terri and Jill who were her very special caregivers, all the staff at HOSPICE-especially Rich, Elena and Carrie, the Alzheimer's Association and Office of the Aging for all of their care and support during Mary's illness.
In keeping with Mary's wishes, there are no public calling hours or services. Interment will be at a later date in the Saratoga National Cemetery.
