Mary G. Mead, 88, of 63 West Rand Street, passed away Monday, November 25, 2013 at St Luke's Medical Center, New Hartford.
Mary was born February 27, 1925 in Ilion the daughter of the late Charles and Freda Brown Garlock, and was a graduate of the Ilion High School.
On July 22, 1950 Mary was united in marriage to Herbert Mead in Ilion.
Mary was employed as a Switchboard Supervisor with New York Telephone retiring in 1978.
Mary was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America.
Over the years she enjoyed camping with the RV, motorcycling, and snowmobiling with her husband.
Mary is survived by her husband Herbert of Ilion, two sons and a daughter in law Gary Mead of Ilion, and Joseph and Becky Mead of Mohawk, a daughter and son in law Terri and Michael Haley of Shortsville, NY and two grand children Mariah and Sarah.
Mary was predeceased by her brother Charles Garlock.
Friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service for Mary to be held on Saturday November 30, 2013 at noon from the Whiter-Hendrix Funeral Home Inc. 100 Otsego Street Ilion, with Rev. Robert Wollaber officiating.
Friends may call from 11:00 AM until the time of the service.
Friends are asked to consider memorials to the Herkimer County Humane Society PO Box 73
