Mary Kay Streeter

Ilion - Mary Kay Streeter, 81, passed away on June 9, 2024, at the Wynn Hospital in Utica with her family by her side.
Born on December 8, 1942, to the late Donald and Julia (Sheehan) Gressler, Mary Kay graduated from Richfield Springs schools and furthered her education at Cobleskill, earning her Associate's Degree in Food Service. Later on, she went to Mohawk School of Beauty. On October 7, 1978, she married her loving husband, William Streeter in Herkimer, sharing a blessed union for 45 years.
Mary Kay was the owner of Herkimer Hairstyling for many years until her retirement. A crafty woman, she loved all forms of arts and crafts. She was a loving and dedicated wife, mother and grandmother. Mary Kay cherished her 25 years in Florida, treasuring the friendships that she and Bill made.
Mary Kay is survived by her husband, William; her children, Kim Barnes, Karen Wellenstein, Renee Wellenstein and her husband Komron, Emil Streeter and his wife, Sharon, Kim Borek and her husband, John, and William Streeter Jr. and his wife, Lisa; her daughter-in-law, Carla Streeter as well as several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her son, Scott Streeter and her sister, Julita.
Visitation will be held on Monday, June 17, 2024, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Whiter-Hendrix Funeral Home, 100 Otsego St. in Ilion. A service will be held at the conclusion of visitation.
