Merriell Fake, 85, of Fort Myers, Florida, passed away on Sunday June 28, 2009 in Florida.
Merriell was born on November 8, 1923 in Ilion, the daughter of the late Claude and Mariam (House) Thayer.
She attended Ilion schools graduating from Ilion High School in 1941 where she was crowned Prom Queen. She was a graduate of the University of Rochester-School of Nursing . Merriell was married to Charles Fake who passed away in 1990.
She lived in Newtonville, New York and worked as the Town Nurse for the Town of Colonie until her retirement
in 1985.
Merriell is survived by two sons and daughters in law; Michael and Sharon Fake of NH,
Thomas and Shirley Fake of Hawaii, a daughter and son in law Judy and Bill Cummings of TX.
She is also survived by 5 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
Graveside services for Merriell will be held on Thursday July2, 2009 at 2:30 pm in the Armory Hill Cemetery in Ilion.
Rev. Robert Wollaber will officiate.
