Michael John Morris, 84, of Ilion, passed away on February 13, 2025 at the Siegenthaler Center.
Mike was born on June 22, 1940 in Ilion, NY, a son of the late Michael and Anna Surdya Morris and he attended Ilion schools. He was employed as an Accounts Manager with MDS in Herkimer for many years.
Michael served in the US Army as a cook, which led to the many unforgettable memories of Thanksgiving at "Grandpaw's" house! He built his own home on Barringer Road where gardening and hunting was his passion. An expert fisherman, he often came home with his limit of whatever fish he was going after. Most important, was his family, often telling stories of his fishing and hunting accomplishments, or sharing in a game of Yahtzee. He will be greatly missed.

He remained close with his former sons in law, Steven Waite of Ilion, LeRoy Maurer of Missouri and Robert McDowell of Ilion. Mike was predeceased by two sons, John Morris of Colorado and Steve Morris of Utica as well as one sister, Marion Hamric and her husband, Richard.
