Michael A. Rafferty, 64 of W. Main St. in Ilion passed away on Friday May 7, 2010 at home.
Mike was born on February 23, 1946 in Troy, NY the son of the late Fred C. and Ellarose (Wilkenson) Rafferty.
He was educated in Troy schools and was employed with the office of general services in Albany for 10 years, then as maintenance foreman at SUNY ESF in Syracuse.
On August 7, 1994 he married the former Joyce Williams Hagan.
Mike had a special love for animals.
Mike is survived by his wife Joyce of Ilion, his sons Andrew, Michael and Raymond and his wife Linda Rafferty, Steven Omes and Richard Lackey, and his daughters Ellarose Comacho, Regina Rafferty and Mary Gomez.
His brothers and sisters Fred, Ronald, Gary and his wife Marianne, James and his wife Brenda and Sharon Mattey and her fiance Mark Vincent.
He also leaves six step children as well as several grand and step grandchildren and four great grand children.
He is pre deceased by his brothers Lawrence, Raymond, and George and a sister Carol Jean Rafferty.
Funeral services for Mike will be held on Monday May 10, 2010 at 7pm at the Whiter-Hendrix Funeral Home Inc. 100 Otsego St. in Ilion. Friends may call on Monday from 4 pm until the time of the funeral.
