Miriam J. Kelsey, 57, of Frankfort passed away Monday, May 24, 2010 with her family by her side, after a long, heroic battle with breast cancer.
Her courageous, loving and unwavering spirit was an inspiration to all who knew her.
Miriam was born on July 26, 1952 in Utica, the daughter of Frederick and Mildred (Staring) Carlson.
She graduated from Frankfort/Schuyler Central School and subsequently from Mohawk Valley Community College with a degree in Secretarial Science.
For nearly 30 years, she was the Office/Business Manager for the Architectural Firms of Myron Jordan Associates and subsequently James Jordan Associates, Richfield Springs.
Miriam is survived by her mother Mildred Carlson of Frankfort, her sons Jason and his wife Emerine Kelsey of Norwich and Brian Kelsey of Rensselaer, three grandchildren Annika, Ethan and Addison Kelsey.
She also leaves her niece Andrea and her husband Anthony Barres, and their children Alexandrea, Anthony and Michael, and a nephew Richard Mody.
For many years she enjoyed the love and companionship of her best friend Jim Jordan.
She was predeceased by her father Frederick, her cherished sister Karen Carlson, and her former husband David Kelsey.
Funeral services for Miriam will be held on Friday May 28, 2010 at 10:00 am at the Whiter-Hendrix Funeral Home Inc.
100 Otsego St. Ilion.
Rev. Robert Wollaber will officiate.
Friends may call on Thursday May 27, 2010 from 4-7pm at the funeral home.
Interment will follow in the Oak View Cemetery in Frankfort.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Development Office, Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, PO Box 27106, New York, NY 10065.
