Nancy A. Stefanec, 79, of 227 Millstone Road, passed away on Monday December 21, 2015, at her home.
Nancy was born on August 2, 1936, in Auburn, NY, the daughter of the late Eugene and Hazel Curry Mosseau, and received her education in the Ilion Central School District.
On September 25, 1956, Nancy was united in marriage with Otto Stefanec at the First United Methodist Church in Ilion, NY.
He passed away on April 8, 2006.
Nancy is survived by her children, Brian Stefanec of Ilion, Heidi Farrell of Danville, KY, Scott and Kathy Stefanec of Ilion, Keith and Lissette Stefanec of Richfield Springs, Dana and Kathleen Stefanec of Mohawk, a sister Doris Lewis of Herkimer, 13 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and three childhood friends Betty, Nella, and Ginny.
Nancy was proud to be a former majorette with the Mohawk Valley Drum & Bugle Corps. She loved gathering with family and friends and always made them feel welcome in her home. She also loved anything Elvis, silly jokes, and all of her knickknacks she collected over the years.
Friends are invited to attend calling hours and a funeral service to be held on Saturday December 26, 2015, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Whiter-Hendrix Funeral Home Inc., 100 Otsego Street, Ilion. Nancy's funeral will follow at 3:00 PM with Pastor Chris Wintermute officiating. The burial will be at a later date at the Armory Hill Cemetery in Ilion.
The family would like to thank her Hospice caregivers Jen, Anna, and Elaina for all the love and caring of Nancy and her family during her illness.
Friends are asked to consider memorials to Hospice and Palliative Care, 4277 Middle Settlement Road, New Hartford, NY 13413 in Nancy's memory.
