Patricia S Waterbury

January 9, 1932 — September 9, 2010

Ilion
Mrs. Patricia S. (Tete) Waterbury,78, of Ilion passed away on September 9, 2010 at St. Elizabeth's Medical Center.
Patricia was born on January 9, 1932 in Herkimer the daughter of the late Patrick G. and Lila (Bose) Sisson.
She spent her entire youth in East Herkimer where she knew everyone and everyone knew her.
Patricia along with Marion Wenget, Shirley Minor, Dorothy Grubner and Margaret Ray spent a great deal of time in the summer on Gorski's Farm "it was a fun place".
Patricia graduated from Herkimer High School with the class of 1949, she belonged to the ski club and was a flag bearer for the high school band.
On the first day of her senior year, September 7, 1948, she was seated beside a young man who she did not know, he was a PG senior from West Canada Central, who was in Herkimer High for the sole purpose of playing football, they became acquainted, then friendly, then high school dances, with "Miss Roles", then dinner at Cherry's and late Sunday movies.
His name was Lee Waterbury.
Their acquaintance blossomed into young love, then real love.
They were married on May 24, 1952, enjoying 58 years of love and friendship. Lee would say "The best thing I ever did was to marry Patricia Sisson".
Following their wedding Patricia went with Lee to his first Air Forces Station on Alexandria LA, then to Cape Cod for 18 months where all off time was spent; going to the ocean, eating scallops, drinking beer and just being in love.
When Lee went to Korea and Japan for 17 months Patricia took care of their little girl Joy and waited.
Lee returned home and went to work.
Patricia and Lee had another child, Jodi.
Patricia and Lee and their children made a beautiful home, and it has been that way ever since.
Patricia is the mother of two daughters Joy A. Korse and Jodi L. Flo and has two grandchildren Leah and Molly Korse. She also leaves several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her brother Robert Sisson who was just a "nice guy".
Lee is most greatful for the love and help from his sisters Joyce Reardon and Joan Bennet, loving friends Marion and Dean Cristman, a nephew Douglas Reardon, he is of the good stuff, and a gentleman and true friend Drew Scouie.
Patricia loved camping, camp fires, dogs of all kinds, shopping in Manchester Center VT, and playing Scrabble on the back porch with a cold beer "oh yes Lee".
Patricia will be forever loved and remembered.
In
keeping with Patricia's wishes there are no calling hours and burial will be private.
Friends are asked to consider memorial contributions to the Herkimer County Humane Society. Arrangements are with the Whiter-Hendrix Funeral Home Inc. in Ilion.
"It pleases me to be near you, and now you are so far away"- Lee
