Richard A 'Dick' Riddell

Richard A. Riddell, 80, of 212 Jack Street Ilion, NY passed away Sunday October 17, 2010 at St Luke's Medical Center New Hartford.
Dick was born October 28, 1929 in Ilion NY the son of the late Dock A and Sadie Staley Riddell, and was educated in the Ilion Schools.
Dick joined the US Army serving from 1948-1950 including a tour in Japan, and then with the US Army reserve.
On April 12, 1958 he married the former Margaret Love in the First United Methodist Church in Ilion.
Upon his return from the US Army Dick was employed as a Supervisor with UNIVAC for 20 years and then with Mohawk Data Science in Herkimer for 20 years, until his retirement.
Dick was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Ilion, and was a loyal husband and father to his family.
Dick is survived by his wife Margaret of Ilion, a son and daughter in law Danny
and Suzanne Riddell of Ilion, a daughter Sharon Palumbo of Frankfort and Paul Palumbo, a brother Leonard E. Riddell of Ilion, two sisters Sandra Hurteau of Ilion, and Dorothy Ashely of Florida, his grand children Ryan and sarah Palumbo and Matthew Riddell.
He was predeceased by two sisters Phyllis Wameling and Florence Hagadorn.
Friends are invited at attend calling hours for Dick on Wednesday October 20, 2010 from 4:00 to 6:00 PM at the Whiter-Hendrix Funeral Home Inc. 100 Otsego Street Ilion.
Mr. Riddell's funeral service will be held on Thursday October 21, 2010 at 12:00 noon
from the First United
Methodist Church Second Street Ilion with Rev Robert Wollaber,
officiating.
Interment with Full Military Honors will follow in the Kinne Cemetery Barringer Road , Town of Litchfield.
Friends are asked to consider memorials to the First United Methodist Church in Dick's memory, envelopes will be available at the funeral home
