Richard Paul Gutheinz, Sr.

Ilion, NY - Thomasville, NC - Richard Paul Gutheinz Sr., 65, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 8th, 2024, at his home in Thomasville, NC.
Richard was born on March 2, 1959, in Little Falls, a son of the late Mary Shepard Gardner and Richard Paul Hanson. He attended New Hartford Schools and graduated from New Hartford High School with the class of 1978. He went on to attend Herkimer County Community College, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in environmental science. He was a hard worker, employed by Sealey's in Thomasville, NC. He was a former member of the Shriners, where he brought joy to many as a dedicated clown, reflecting his jovial spirit and his love for making people smile.
Richard's is survived by his children, Richard Gutheinz, Jason Chalmers, Amy Gutheinz, Nicole Butler, and Eric Chalmers. He also leaves behind many grandchildren and extended family members who will continue to honor his legacy and cherish the fond memories shared with him.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Whiter-Hendrix Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held on Monday, December 2, 2024 at 11 am in Armory Hill Cemetery in Ilion.
