Richard "Dick" Ingerham, 62 of 1077 Stuben Hill Road, Herkimer passed away Tuesday June 17, 2014 at home with his family by his side. Dick was born July 21, 1951 in Ilion, the son of the late Joseph and Helen Roginski Ingerham, and received his education in the Mohawk School System.
Dick served with the US Navy from February 12, 1976 until December 6, 1979, where his rank was Fireman. On June 26, 1999 Dick was united in marriage to the former Darlene Roberts in Richfield Springs, NY
Dick was employed as a cook with Mohawk Valley Community Action, where he also did work with the air conditioning. Prior to that he was a cook at restaurants in the valley including the Whiffletree in Ilion, and Papa Dom's in Herkimer.
Dick was a member of the Ilion Elks Lodge 1444.
Surviving Dick is his wife Darlene, two daughters and a son in law Tammi and Dave Rich of Fairport, NY and Teresa Ingerham of East Rochester, NY, a brother and sister in law Ken and his wife Alma of Clark Mills, a sister in law Val Ingerham of Mohawk, NY, his grand children Patience Jones and Corina McConkey of East Rochester, also several nieces and nephews.
Dick was predeceased by a son Chad Richard in 1975, and a brother Joseph Ingerham, and a sister Helen.
Friends are invited to attend calling hours for Dick to be held on Saturday June 21, 2014 from 2:00 - 4:00 PM at the Whiter-Hendrix Funeral Home Inc. 100 Otsego Street, Ilion with a memorial service
with Military Honors to follow at 4:00 PM with Dick's nephew Carl Ingerham officiating. Immediately following the memorial service a continuation of the celebration of Dick's life will be held at the Ilion Elks Lodge, all friends and family are invited.
The Ilion Elks Lodge 1444 will conduct services at 3:30 PM Saturday at the funeral home.
