Richard Michael Usyk, age 66, passed away on November 15, 2023, at Wynn Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Ilion on March 30, 1957, Richard was the son of Eva (Jones) Usyk and the late Stanley Usyk.
On May 22, 1986, Richard joined in matrimony with his beloved wife, Lori March. Richard was not only a devoted husband but also a dedicated father to his daughters. The bond he created with his grandchildren Ellie and Joey was immeasurable, and he adored them with all of his heart. His love and support were his legacy, and it lives on through his family.
Richard's professional journey encompassed diverse roles, including that of a respected general contractor and a member of Glazers Union 677. His work was a testament to his commitment and craftsmanship, earning him the respect and admiration of his peers. Being a craftsman wasn't only a career, it was his true passion. Beyond his profession, Richard was a fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and found joy in the art of fishing.
However, Richard's most profound calling was in the realm of helping others. Possessing a heart overflowing with generosity, he was always the first one ready to extend a helping hand, regardless of the task's size. His boundless kindness touched countless lives, leaving an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Richard is survived by his wife, Lori Usyk; his daughters and their spouses, Erica (Joe) Lebert, Christine Usyk, Jamie (Mike) Martino, and Kari (Joseph) Cieslak; his brothers, Stanley (Charlene) Usyk and Paul (Rosetta) Usyk; and his sister, Debbie (Scott) Dam; brothers in law, Thomas (Bonny pre-deceased) Brownrigg,Howard (Carol) March and Dennis (Cyndy) March. He also leaves behind his eight cherished grandchildren, nieces and nephews, along with several cousins.
To honor and celebrate Richard's life, a visitation will be held at the Whiter-Hendrix Funeral Home on November 18, 2023, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM. The service will be officiated by Deacon Jim Bower at the conclusion of the visitation.
