Ilion
Sandra J. Harris, 75 of 99 Sixth Ave. in Ilion, formerly of Mohawk, passed away on Tuesday December 25, 2012, at Faxton-St. Luke's Health Care in New Hartford.
Sandy was born on July 11, 1937 in Ilion. She was the daughter of the late Irving and Pearl (Spencer) Lake.
She was a graduate of Mohawk Schools and attended Cazenovia College. Sandy worked as a computer technician for Par Technologies in New Hartford, until her retirement two years ago, prior to that she was employed at M.D.S. in Herkimer for several years.
Sandy was married to Walter Harris, He passed in 1970.
Sandy was of the Methodist faith and was a member of the Mohawk American Legion Auxiliary. Sandy enjoyed working, going to her camp, wood working, ceramics, traveling and spending time with her family, she will be greatly missed.
Sandy is survived by two daughters Pennie (Harris) and her husband Art Stanley of Ilion, and Nadine and her husband Robby Baughey of Polk City FL; a sister Barbara and her husband Tom Wright of Lutz FL. and their daughter Stephanie, her grandchildren Alexander, Tyler, Carlie, and Amber Stanley; she was predeceased by her cat Jazz, that she very much loved.
In keeping with Sandy's wishes she was cremated there are no formal calling hours or funeral service.
A graveside memorial service will be held in the spring in the Mohawk Cemetery at a date and time to be announced. Arrangements are with the Whiter-Hendrix Funeral Home Inc. 100 Otsego Street Ilion.
