Shirley (Brewer) Danielak, 81,
of 80 East North Street, Ilion passed away Wednesday July 18, 2012 at St. Elizabeth Medical Center.
Shirley was born February 7, 1931 in Columbia, NY, the daughter of the late Charles and Mae Patton Brewer, and received her education in the Ilion School System.
On July 2, 1949 Shirley was united in marriage to Leo N. Danielak in Herkimer, NY.
Leo passed away June 11, 1995.
Shirley was employed with Bertell's Dress in Herkimer, and was the owner and operator of the Fantastic Women's Apparel in Ilion, retiring several years ago.
Shirley was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Ilion, and the Women of the Moose in Ilion.
Shirley is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Sherry and Jim Bala of North Port, FL , and Diane Jones of Ilion, a brother Russell Brewer of Newport, a sister Pearl Hoke of Clinton, two sisters-in-law Marge Brewer of Ilion, and Helen Brewer of Ilion,
a brother-in-law and sister-in-law Stanley and Ann Danielak, Shirley's companion and friend Martin Waldron, her grandchildren Jim Bala III, of Pleasanton, CA, Jennifer and Thomas Bergen of Grapevine TX, Nicholas Jones of Toledo, OH, Stephanie Jones of Ilion, her great grandchildren Zachary, Ethan and McKenzie Bergen.
She was predeceased by her brothers John Brewer, Robert Brewer, her sisters Dorothy and Eleanor Brewer, Jean E. Dieterich, and Ruth Clements.
Friends are invited to attend a Memorial service for Shirley to be held on Wednesday, July 25, 2012
at 2:00 pm at the Mohawk Reformed Church in Mohawk with Rev. Brian Engel officiating, interment will follow in the Armory Hill Cemetery, Ilion. The family will receive friends and relatives from 12:30 - 2:00 pm at the Reformed Church in Mohawk.
Arrangements are with the Whiter-Hendrix Funeral Home Inc. 100 Otsego Street Ilion.
