Stephen C. Baylor, 52 of Mohawk, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, October 17, 2013 at Faxton-St. Luke's Healthcare Center in New Hartford.
Steve was born on July 15, 1961 the son of Donald E. Baylor, Sr. and Patricia (Bala) Baylor.
Steve was a graduate of Mohawk Central School.
On October 1, 1994 he married his high school sweetheart Linda Jacquays.
Steve was an installer with Safelite Auto Glass and previously worked with his father and brothers as 3-B Construction in Mohawk.
Steve was an avid hunter and fisherman and was a member of the Mohawk Fish & Game Club.
He enjoyed spending time at their camp on Perkin's Lane and boating (with motors) at Canadarago Lake in the summer.
Steve is survived by his wife, Linda and son James, his mother, Pat of Mohawk, his brothers; Donald (Lauren) Baylor and Jason Baylor both of Mohawk, his sister, Michele (Col. Alan) Wiernicki of El Paso, TX, his in laws Maryann and Jim Stekl of Mohawk; Bill (Colleen) Jacquays, Mike (Sue) Jacquays, Don (Teresa) Jacquays, Jim (Debbie) Jacquays, Marc (Lynn) Jacquays and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Stephen was predeceased by his father, Donald E. Baylor, Sr on October 5 2013.
A graveside service for family and friends will take place on Wednesday, October 23, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at the upper Mohawk Cemetery with Brian Engel officiating. A gathering for family and friends will take place at the Mohawk American Legion after the graveside service. Arrangements are made by Whiter-Hendrix Funeral Home, Inc., 100 Otsego Street, Ilion, New York.
Friends are asked to consider memorial donations to Eye Love Cecelia, c/o Coach Cole, 1738 Barringer Road, Ilion, N.Y.
