Sylvia C. Bala, 84, of 105 Protection Ave., passed away Sunday, August 20, 2017. She was born November 11, 1932 in Rochester, NH, the daughter of the late Harold and Ethel Randlett Carpenter and received her education in Herkimer. On June 16, 1957 she was united in marriage with Richard Bala. He passed away January 8, 1993.
Sylvia is survived by two sons and a daughter in law, Talbot and Diane of East Herkimer and Todd of Rome also two grandchildren, she was predeceased by her brother Dale Carpenter.
In keeping with Sylvia's wishes there will be no public calling hours and her services will be at the convienience of the family. Interment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Herkimer. Arrangements are with the Whiter-Hendrix Funeral Home, Inc., 100 Otsego St. Ilion.
