Thora Marie Schaffer

Thora Marie Schaffer, 74, of St. Rt. 51, passed away on Wednesday December 19, 2012 at home.
Thora was born on December 5, 1938 in Cadosia, NY the daughter of the late Horace and Ruth (Finnegan) Robinson.
On August 17, 1962 she married Rouland Schaffer, he passed away in 2001.
Thora was a homemaker who enjoyed her family and a good poker game.
She is survived by her sons Rouland and Randy both of West Winfield; daughters Deanna Schaffer of Laurens, Ruth Bienkowski of Little Falls, Pamala Owens of W. Winfield and Kristal and her husband Michael Speziale of Cassville; a sister Edna Howe of Davenport; and a brother Jack and his wife Kathy of Milford.
Thora also leaves several grand and great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her daughter Betty.
Funeral services for Thora will be held on Friday December 21, 2012 at 11am at the Whiter-Hendrix Funeral Home Inc. 100 Otsego St. in Ilion.
Rev. Robert Wollaber will officiate, interment will follow in the Oak View Cemetery in Frankfort.
Following the funeral service friends are invited to a reception at Hoover's Place on Rt. 51 (Ilion Gorge).
Friends may call TODAY from 5-8pm at the funeral home.
Thora's family wish to thank, the staff of Hospice and Palliative Care, for all the care and compassion given during her illness.
