Verna Ann Samson

Verna Ann Samson (nee Whiter) age 93, died at home at Balfour Residences, Louisville, CO, on Wednesday September 13, 2017.
Born August 18, 1924 in Ilion NY, she lived in Tucson AZ, Richfield Springs NY, Ocala FL, Blairsville GA, Loveland CO, and Louisville CO.
Vicki graduated from Ilion High School in 1943.
While attending Rhode Island School of Design, she met and married Robert J. Samson on August 12, 1944.
Vicki raised two sons at Birchbark Farms in Richfield Springs NY, worked at Bassett Medical Center, and taught art at Richfield Springs School System.
She was an accomplished high school ice skater, a ranked women's amateur golfer, and a recognized artist.
Survivors include her sons: Jeff (Sharon) Samson of Boulder CO and Jeremy (Kim) Samson of Akron OH; grandchildren Nicole, Jason, Tracy, Jessica, Shanna, and Jocelyn; ten great-grandchildren; and two nephews Len Hendrix of Ilion and Brian Hendrix of Long Island NY.
She was preceded in death by her husband Bob, father Roscoe, mother Annie, siblings Leona Whiter and Ermina Hendrix.
After cremation, her ashes will be scattered in the Rocky Mountains.
