Virginia 'Ginny' Reynolds

Virginia Reynolds, 91, passed away Saturday, May 26, 2018, at home.
Born in Ilion on April 27, 1927, to the late Leslie and Essie Helmer Wood, Ginny was a graduate of Ilion High School and received her RN Degree from St. Luke's School of Nursing. On December 10, 1949 she was married to Frederick Reynolds. Fred passed away November 13, 2003. Ginny was the founder/owner of the Valley Telephone Exchange until it was sold in 1961. She retired from Remington Arms after 15 years as a Visiting/Industrial RN.
Her life was dedicated to her family and she was known for her good nature, generosity and personal strength. Ginny was an active member of Ilion First Presbyterian Church, a Girl Scout leader, and she enjoyed gardening, knitting, crocheting, quilting, playing the organ, and many other activities.
Ginny is survived by two daughters, Linda (James) Marco of Ithaca and Phyllis (William) Laymon of Malone; a son, Donald (Terry) Reynolds of Whitesboro; a son-in- law, Thomas Vorce; nine grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. She was predeceased by her daughter Sharon Vorce and her sister, Beverly Herlehy.
Virginia's funeral will be Saturday, June 2, 2018, at 11 am at the Ilion First Presbyterian Church, 90 Morgan St., with Pastor Rick Riggle officiating.
Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery, Herkimer. Friends may call from 4-6 PM Friday at Whiter-Hendrix Funeral Home, Inc., 100 Otsego St., Ilion.
In lieu of flowers, friends are asked to consider memorials to the Ilion First Presbyterian Church.
