Vivian C. Casey, 97, passed away April 23, 2017 at the Folts Home, Herkimer. She was born January 27, 1920 in Denver, Co. the daughter of the late Arthur w. and Rose Thierfelder Caple Sr., she attended schools in Old Forge, Frankfort and graduated from Ilion. Vivian was united in marriage with Robert J. Casey on April 11, 1942 in Ilion, Bob passed away April 21, 1992.
Vivian was an active member of St. Augustine's Episcopal Church having served as secretary under Fr. George Greene, she was also a member and past President of St. Augustine's Guild. She was also a member of Chapter 82 O.E.S.
Vivian is survived by her daughters Diana Lyn Schoen of Ilion, Dale-Lee and Robert VanFleet of Waterford, MI, her son Robert of Port Orange, FL., three grandchildren Brian Schoen, Andrew and Heather VanFleet and three great grandchildren Brian Shone, Hunter and Marianna VanFleet. Vivian was predeceased by her brother and sister in law Arthur and Pat Caple and her son in law Allan Shoen.
Vivian's calling hours will be held Thursday, April 28, 2017 from 11:00 to 1:00PM at the Whiter-Hendrix Funeral Home, Inc., 100 Otsego St., Ilion, and her funeral will follow at 1:00PM, with Bishop Daniel Herzog officiating. Interment will follow in the Mohawk Cemetery. The O.E.S. Chapter 82 will conduct services at 12:45.
Friends are asked to consider memorials to St. Augustine's Church in Vivian's memory.
