Willard G. 'Will' Vanevera

Willard G. "Will" VanEvera, 79, of Ilion, NY passed away on Wednesday, August 31, 2016 at St. Elizabeth's Medical Center in Utica.
Will was born in Ilion, NY, the son of the late Willard G. and Emma L. (Hunt) VanEvera, and was educated in the Mohawk School System graduating in 1954.
He was married to the former Harriet Rockwell on July 28, 1956.
Harriet passed away on April 29, 1988.
Will was a machinist with the Remington Arms Company for several years until his retirement.
He was an avid golfer and enjoyed his time at the Maple Crest Golf Club, he was also an avid bowler and a longtime member of the Ilion Elks Lodge BPOE #1444.
Will is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Robin E. and John Babb of Dauphin, PA, two granddaughters, Michelle A. and Robert Travis and Lauren E. Babb, one grandson, Kevin J. Babb and several nieces and nephews.
He is pre-deceased by two brothers, Richard VanEvera and Robert VanEvera and two sisters, Marian Tyoe and Doris Bosworth.
Funeral services for Will will be held on Wednesday, September 7, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. from the Whiter-Hendrix Funeral Home, Inc., 100 Otsego Street, Ilion, NY with Rev. Robert Wollaber officiating.
Interment will follow at Armory Hill Cemetery in Ilion.
Friends may call on Tuesday, September 6, 2016 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
The Ilion Elks service will be held at 5:00 p.m.
Friends are asked to consider memorials to the Juvenile Diabetes Association.
