William C. VanSickle Jr., 68, of 314 Johnson Road, Schuyler, passed away Friday July 13, 2012 at home.
Bill was born December 1, 1943 in Ilion the son of William C. and Emily (Ward) Van Sickle, and received his education in the Ilion High School, and Herkimer County Community College.
On May 7, 1966 Bill was united in marriage to the former Mary Lou Henrickson.
He was employed with Remington Arms Co. as a supervisor for 46 years retiring in June of 2010.
Bill was a member of Our Lady Queen of Apostles Church in Frankfort, the Ilion Elks Lodge 1444, VFW post 502, and a former member of the Ilion Moose Lodge 1010.
Bill is survived by his wife Mary Lou, his mother Emily of Ilion; two sons and daughters in law Mark William and Nicole of Auora,CO, Ted and Ahng of Frankfort; a daughter Kimberly Lynn Baye of Mohawk;; three sisters and two brothers in law Linda Burton of Oneida, Lee and Betty Sterling of Mohawk, and Karen and John Conik of Little Falls; a brother and sister in law Edward and Barbara Van Sickle of Verona; his grand children Ethan, Maddison, Amanda, Savannah, Jordan Marie, Tara, Brooklyn, Brianna and Jackson.
Bill was predeceased by his father William in 1997.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday July 18, 2012 at 10:30 AM in Our Lady Queen of Apostles Church, Frankfort with the Very Rev. Anthony Barrett officiating, assisted by Deacon James Bower, interment will follow in the Mt. Oliviet Cemetery, Frankfort.
Friends may call on Tuesday July 17, 2012 from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the Whiter-Hendrix Funeral Home Inc. 100 Otsego Street, Ilion.
Friends are asked to consider memorials to the Hospice and Palliative Care Inc. 4277 Middle Settlement Road, New Hartford, NY 13413 in Bill's memory.
The family would like to thank the staff at Bassett Health Care Cancer Center in Herkimer, especially Dr. Grethlein, PA Sherri Looman, also thank you to all the ambulance personnel for their kindness and care during Bills illness.
